Description: This is probably one of my favorite pages from the comic. This page is actually a flashback scene. In High Voltage: Beginnings, Clyde is 14 years of age and is transitioning from middle school to high school. This scene shows Clyde when he is in 5th grade. This scene depicts Clyde, Matt and Sasha getting bullied by the Nelson brothers. Being the hasty person that he is, Matt was about to go in and try to fight them. Before he could actually reach the Nelson brothers, Lamar shows up and easily takes care of them. I like this scene for the following reasons:

-It shows the friendship Lamar had with Clyde, Matt &  Sasha back in the day. Before becoming Flash Flood, Lamar was dedicated to helping people and making a difference in the lives of those who could not fend for themselves. That is exactly how Lamar became friends with Clyde. Matt & Sasha... he was constantly defending them from bullies and got to know them that way. 

-It also shows off a different side of Sasha. In the biography I wrote for Sasha, a lot of people don't like her that much. This scene shows that Sasha wasn't always a "beauty queen" and that she actually looked like a guy back in the day with her short hair and glasses. The reason why Sasha currently values popularity and her new "friends" is because she didn't have all of that while she was in middle school. 

-Finally, this scene shows that Matt is still pretty hasty and headstrong even as a kid. Matt tends to have a short fuse and isn't afraid to lash out at people if they deserve it. As we can see from this scene, Matt was about to attack the Nelson brothers before Lamar intervened. That was the type of guy Matt was as a kid and the type of guy he still is. Even if he cannot win a match or is outnumbered, Matt will still try to stay strong and take on anyone in his way.
